Fall 2014

So, at last, good news to report!  I will be music-directing the Savoynet Performing Group's production of "The Pirates of Penzance" next August at the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Harrogate, England!  Very excited!  This will be my sixth trip to the festival and the second time conducting - but the first time to Harrogate (the festival moved from Buxton last year) and the first time conducting "Pirates", which is basically a perfect show.  It's going to be an amazing amount of fun.  The stage director is Stuart Box, a good friend of mine, and we've wanted to work together for years.

Closer events include the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps concert band's 35th anniversary concert, "Make the Yuletide Gay!".  (hee hee hee)  I was their artistic director for their 20th and 25th anniversaries, and am delighted to be asked back as one of the soloists in Leroy Anderson's "Sandpaper Ballet".  This is a return engagement - I played 3rd Sandpaper with the band a few years ago, and will be repeating my triumph - so I guess you could say this is now a staple in my repertory.

In other news, as promised, Charles and I got married over Labor Day.  Two months in and so far, so good!  We'll be taking a honeymoon cruise over Thanksgiving.
